A story of the new

Alice Nampitjinpa Dixon was born in 1943 in Country west of Kintore and was a Pintupi woman associated with Ikuntji Artists at Haasts Bluff. Her Country and cultural knowledge were central to her painting.

Before becoming established as an artist, Alice worked at Kintore School and was involved in passing cultural knowledge to younger generations, including traditional dancing and women’s cultural practices. She later became recognised for paintings relating to her Country and Tjukurrpa.
