A story of the new

Maryitjanu Lennon is a senior Aboriginal elder who holds extensive cultural knowledge. She was born in the desert and grew up living a traditional nomadic life with her family. Her mother was from Watarru and her father from the north of Watarru around Aralya. As a young woman she travelled extensively through her country with her family, learning about Country, bush foods and cultural traditions. She later became an important member of her community and is recognised for her knowledge of country, family and culture.
