About Maylene Russell

Maylene Russell was born in the bush in 1938 at a place called Walara and grew up in the country around Wataru south-west of Kaltjiti. Maylene worked from the Kaltjiti Arts Centre in Fregon. An emerging artist in her later years, Maylene passed away in 2006. Her colourful personality lives on through her artwork.
