A story of the new

This story was told to me by my mum. You can see in the painting how the man is creep up. His two wives told him they are going behind. Long time ago in the dreaming two sisters went fishing at Urapunga in the river and creek. They were very happy fishing and catching plenty fish. Suddenly a man came up to the creek in the near them. The oldest sister saw the man coming and looked very hard. Her daddy had always said to her that if a man was hunting she was not to spear him. The younger sister quickly jumped up and dragging his spear behind. She got up slow and said to the other sister, ‘a man coming I just him the spear at him.’ Suddenly she got her sister with her but they kept going, and then she told her sister what she had seen and then they went running back to their camp. She thanked her father and said it is right to listen to the helpful Cockatoo too. He has saved our life today.
